This is the site for the Constituency Labour Party (CLP) of Wealden, a mostly rural constituency in East Sussex. Despite Wealden having been a Tory stronghold since its foundation in 1983, in the 2017 General Election Labour made huge gains (becoming the local as well as the national alternative to the Tories). In 2018 we won our first contested council seat (in Uckfield North) and in 2019 we came within 19 votes of winning our first District Council seat.
We meet regularly to discuss local issues, and for social events and campaigning. The CLP comprises four Branch Labour Parties: Crowborough, Forest Row, Hailsham and Uckfield. New members are made very welcome at meetings and social events.
